A car traveling at 168 km/h on the Tetovë – Gostivar road was stopped by the police from Skopje.

The Ministry of Interior has reported an incident involving traffic violations that occurred yesterday afternoon at approximately 6:15 PM. The event took place on the Gostivar-Tetovë road, near the village of Kamjan, where officers from the Road Safety Police Station in Tetovë were conducting routine checks. During a scheduled traffic control operation, the police stopped a passenger vehicle, identified as a Volkswagen Polo bearing Skopje license plates.

Following standard procedure, officers conducted measurements of the vehicle’s speed. It was determined that the driver, identified as B.S., aged 32, was operating the vehicle at a speed of 168 kilometers per hour. This speed was significantly in excess of the posted speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour for that section of the road.

As a result of the excessive speed, B.S. was taken into custody at the local Police Station. Authorities confirmed that after completing all necessary documentation pertaining to the incident, appropriate charges will be filed against the individual.

The operation underscores the continuous efforts of law enforcement to ensure adherence to established traffic regulations across the region. The incident serves as a reminder of the critical importance of maintaining safe speeds when operating vehicles on public thoroughfares.
