Kryetari i Lidhjes Demokratike të Kosovës, Lumir Abdixhiku, ishte në takim me kryeministrin Albin Kurti për t’u diskutuar zgjedhimi i presidentit të ri të vendit. The meeting follows Prime Minister Kurti’s prior calls to consult with opposition leaders regarding the process. Abdixhiku, who arrived at the Assembly, was asked if he anticipated reaching a consensus.
He responded that he would only release details after the meeting concluded. “We are going to the meeting now. We will make a statement after,” he said.
On Saturday, former President Vjosa Osmani formally transferred her duties to Albulena Haxhiu. The Constitutional Court has set a deadline of April 28th for Kosovo’s parliament to elect a new president. The upcoming vote follows a period of political transition and underscores the importance of parliamentary agreement in selecting the country’s head of state.
