Angellov: With the budget rebalancing, we expect to buy three “Air Tractors” and employ two new pilots.

Stojance Angellov, the Director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, announced during an interview on “Top Top” with Telma TV that arrangements have been made to employ two additional pilots for firefighting aircraft. Angellov indicated that the hiring process is contingent upon approval from the Ministry of Finance. He stated that the department is awaiting budget rebalancing, adding that the timeline is not urgent.

Regarding the new hires, Angellov specified that the pilots are scheduled to undergo training during October and November. He detailed the experience levels of the two individuals: one is a relatively new pilot with limited experience, while the other is a class pilot possessing extensive flight time and experience across both aircraft types and helicopters. Angellov also used the opportunity to issue an invitation to all pilots with over 400 hours of flight time, regardless of aircraft type, to come and speak with him.

Furthermore, he mentioned plans to acquire three “Air Tractors.” The overall initiative underscores efforts to enhance aerial firefighting capabilities, with the successful onboarding of qualified pilots being a key component of these plans.
