Bayern Munich president talks to Liverpool about Luis Diaz: They should be combing their hair.

Hoeness Questions Liverpool’s Strategy Following Luis Diaz’s Success

Uli Hoeness, the honorary president of Bayern Munich, has voiced criticism of Liverpool’s recent transfer decisions while highlighting the outstanding form of Luis Diaz at his new club. Speaking on the “Auf eine weiß-blaue Tasse” podcast, Hoeness questioned the strategic direction taken by the Merseyside club. The former Bayern executive specifically referenced the acquisitions and sales of key players.

“Those at Liverpool really need to ask themselves what mistakes they made there,” Hoeness stated. He pointed to the club’s investment of €150 million in striker Alexander Isak, alongside the sale of Luis Diaz for approximately €70 million to Vincent Kompany’s team. Hoeness emphasized Diaz’s current performance, noting the forward’s impressive statistics of 24 goals and 18 assists in 42 games.

“He is not just a good and goal-scoring player, but also an exceptional worker,” Hoeness commented. The former Bayern official suggested that Liverpool should be reviewing their choices given Diaz’s significant contribution to his current team. The discussion occurred while Bayern Munich continues to strengthen its squad.
