The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) has reiterated its demand for transparency and institutional accountability concerning matters at the Macedonian Electric Power System Operator (MEPSO). The party alleges that four months after the issue was brought to public attention, competent institutions have yet to provide a definitive response. The core of BDI’s concern relates to a significant loss incurred by MEPSO during a pre-arbitral procedure conducted before the Dispute Adjudication Board (DAB).
According to BDI’s statements, MEPSO lost a substantial portion of the dispute, valued at approximately 19.3 million euros, with the ruling favoring the company “Energoinvest.”
BDI continues to press for clarity regarding the handling of this matter. The dispute is anticipated to proceed to formal arbitration proceedings, during which the state-owned enterprise will be required to defend its position and assert its claims. The party has repeatedly voiced concerns over the lack of substantive updates and accountability mechanisms concerning the financial implications of the DAB decision.
BDI maintains that a thorough review and transparent accounting of the proceedings are necessary to address the concerns raised by the public and stakeholders.
