Faton Bislimi, the former Deputy of the Kosovo Parliament, announced the formalization of a significant cultural and diplomatic partnership involving the Municipality of Pristina. According to Bislimi, the municipality has executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the initiative titled “America Inspires Freedom – The Kosovo Story.” This agreement establishes a collaborative framework for commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States within Kosovo. During a press conference disseminated via Facebook, Bislimi detailed the scope of the collaboration, emphasizing the central role of the capital city.
He stated that Pristina is designated to host one of the key commemorative events on February 2, 2026. The anticipated gathering is expected to draw a wide spectrum of participants, including institutional officials, mayors, diplomatic representatives, military personnel, academics, students, leaders from civil society organizations, and guests from the United States. Bislimi highlighted that as the administrative center of the Republic of Kosovo, Pristina will serve as the principal municipal partner for this entire undertaking.
The signing of this MOU solidifies the local commitment to hosting a major international event that celebrates the bilateral relationship and the shared themes of freedom. This initiative underscores an effort to elevate the profile of Kosovo’s civic engagement on an international stage through this specific cultural project. The partnership formalizes Pristina’s role in marking this historical milestone.
