Bulgarian media publish footage of the fire in front of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Skopje

A Bulgarian online portal, “Bgnes,” released a video documenting the burning of several vehicles parked in the vicinity of the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje. The footage reportedly shows an individual carrying a plastic bag, from which liquid was poured onto a car, resulting in significant flames. The portal noted that the video experienced several freezes precisely at the moment the liquid was allegedly ignited, obscuring that critical action.

In response to the incident, the Government of the Republic of Macedonia issued a statement condemning the burning of the Bulgarian diplomatic vehicles in Skopje. Furthermore, “Bgnes” published commentary suggesting that local authorities failed to intervene during the incident. The report specifically questioned the response of the official security personnel stationed at the embassy and the adjacent guard post.

The portal also highlighted the presence of a regional fire department located directly opposite the Bulgarian Embassy. The circulation of this video has drawn attention to the security situation at the diplomatic mission. The content suggests a lapse in immediate security response, juxtaposing the visible presence of police officers and fire services with the alleged failure to prevent the act of arson at the front of the embassy grounds.

The published materials serve to document the incident and raise questions regarding the security protocols in place for the Bulgarian diplomatic representation.
