The Democratic Institute of Kosovo (KDI) has released updated proposals for verification and the potential confiscation of property previously held by the Jewish community and former Pajustifikasme members. This latest iteration of the “Byron Shtetërore” project is now available for review. Alongside this, the KDI has also published a report incorporating recommendations from the Venice Commission.
This report focuses on key areas of reform within the Kosovo Constitution, specifically addressing human rights protections and the importance of upholding the rule of law. Currently, the KDI has not yet made public the most recent version of the project concerning the Kosovo Constitution (KO46/23). Nor has the Institute released the full recommendations stemming from the Venice Commission’s assessment.
The release of these documents represents a significant step in ongoing discussions surrounding constitutional reform and the handling of historical property claims within Kosovo. Further details regarding the specific proposals and the Venice Commission’s findings are expected to be announced by the KDI in the coming days.
