Five individuals sustained injuries following a traffic accident that took place early Saturday morning in the village of Gurrakoc, located in the Istog region. The details were confirmed by Driton Rugova, the Police Spokesperson for the Peja Region, who reported the incident to Telegrafi. Rugova stated that the police were notified of the accident at approximately 12:40 AM on July 28, 2026.

The collision involved two vehicles: a police car and a civilian car. As a direct result of the accident, two police officers from the Mitrovica Region, along with three other individuals, were injured. All injured parties were subsequently transported to the Regional Hospital in Peja to receive necessary medical treatment.

The spokesperson confirmed that an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is currently underway. Accident investigators from the Regional Police Directorate in Peja are managing the inquiry to determine the precise sequence of events leading to the collision.
