Columns and long waits at the Kosovo exit to Albania; authorities call on citizens to use other border points

The National Border Management Center (QKMK) has reported significant congestion and long queues at the Morinë border crossing point connecting Kosovo to Albania throughout the day. The agency announced that despite implementing minimal controls and maximizing all available capacities to speed up traffic flow, the sheer volume of vehicles has resulted in considerable delays. In response to the sustained traffic issues, QKMK has advised citizens who are able to do so to use alternative border crossings to help alleviate the extensive waits and improve overall traffic flow.

Furthermore, border authorities issued a general appeal to all road users, urging them to strictly adhere to all traffic regulations and to exercise heightened caution while driving. The report indicates that the combination of high traffic volume and the operational status of the border crossing has led to these prolonged delays. Authorities are urging cooperation from the public to manage the congestion effectively.

Travelers are advised to monitor updates from QKMK regarding potential alternative routes or expected wait times to plan their journeys accordingly.
