The Special Prosecutor’s Office has formally filed criminal charges against six individuals in connection with events that occurred in the northern regions of the country in October 2022. The charges stem from activities surrounding the arrest of Dejan Pantiqi, which led to significant disruptions in local infrastructure. During the period in question, multiple village roads and major highways were subjected to blockades.
These makeshift barricades were constructed using a variety of heavy machinery and civilian transport. Reports indicate that the blockades were fortified by positioning numerous vehicles, including gravel-laden trucks, excavators, ambulances, and buses. Furthermore, improvised fighting positions, or trenches, were established adjacent to the main barricades, severely impeding movement.
The six individuals charged are Dushan Maksimović, Miloš Radosavljević, Nemanja Jolović, Dushan Drobać, Srdjan Vučinić, and Nenad Orlović. They face accusations related to criminal acts, specifically citing Association for activities against the Constitution and Obstruction of a public official in the performance of duty. The implementation of these extensive physical barriers significantly disrupted local life, effectively disrupting normal public communications and commerce in the affected areas.
The investigation centers on the organized nature of these blockades and the alleged interference with state functions through the strategic placement of these vehicles and fortifications. The prosecution alleges that these actions constituted a coordinated effort to undermine constitutional order.
