Dr. Elmi Berisha was re-elected as the president of the Vatra Federation during an Electoral Congress held in the USA on June 27, 2026. The results were reported via the Facebook page of the newspaper Dielli.
According to the announcement, out of 34 delegates, Dr. Elmi Berisha secured 22 votes. Dr.
Pashko Camaj received 8 votes, and Adriatik Spahiu received 4 votes. Candidate Dritan Haxhia withdrew from the election. Furthermore, the congress successfully passed a new constitution for the Vatra Federation with 24 votes.
Under the new constitutional guidelines, the presidential term is set for four years. The proceedings began with the playing of the national anthems of the United States and Albania. Monitoring Judge John Ingram provided detailed explanations to the delegates and attendees regarding the monitoring, verification, and review processes for the Vatra Congress.
