The European Union has condemned the public glorification of war criminal Ratko Mladić by Ivan Stoilković. In response, BDI issued a media statement addressing the perceived silence from VLEN. BDI questioned VLEN’s reluctance to mention Mladić’s name, suggesting this silence raises questions regarding public opinion.
The statement further criticized VLEN, alleging that the party has not only remained silent regarding the positions and advancements of Stoilković’s party, which holds several high state posts, but has also actively supported it through votes in the Assembly. BDI highlighted that this period has seen developments indicative of an increasing penetration of structures and interests associated with what BDI terms the “Serbian world” project within the country. BDI pointed to specific actions, noting that Ivan Stoilković has publicly referred to the Republic of Kosovo as “Kosovo-Metohija.” Through this critique, BDI aimed to draw attention to the political alignment and perceived compromises within the local political landscape.
