Technical workers at primary schools within the Municipality of Pristina have announced plans to strike beginning Wednesday due to the outstanding payment of their April salaries. The decision was formalized during a meeting held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Attendees at the meeting included Jusuf Azemi, the head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Technical Workers in the Private Sector, and the leaders of the technical workers’ trade union associations from the primary schools in Pristina.
According to the Federation’s official announcement, following discussions among the parties, the technical workers agreed to suspend services and initiate a strike starting the following day. This action will continue until the overdue salaries are fully disbursed. During the meeting, representatives from the Municipality of Pristina addressed the matter, confirming that the salaries would be transferred to the respective bank accounts of the employees.
