“Flying ash,” meteorology: Weekend could see up to 39 degrees in Albania

Albania is currently experiencing an unusual period of elevated temperatures throughout June, with forecasts indicating that temperatures could reach up to 39 degrees by the weekend. Meteorologist Tanja Porja advised A2 CNN that the region is recording thermal values approximately six degrees above the established seasonal climate norms. Speaking to A2 CNN, Porja noted that the temperature increases observed this week have exceeded expectations, projecting continued rises through Friday and into Sunday.

She stated that reaching 39 degrees in Albanian territory by Sunday represents a maximum temperature that is exceptionally high for the month of June. Porja provided context by comparing current readings to historical data, mentioning that the typical maximum temperatures for the last decade have generally ranged between 30 and 33 degrees, although she cautioned that even these past years have deviated from normal patterns. She emphasized that temperatures exceeding 35 degrees are particularly unusual for early June.

The current pattern of rising heat levels marks a significant departure from the expected climatic conditions for this time of year in Albania.
