Over the weekend, a group of accredited diplomats visited the Albanian Alps, choosing to explore the region’s natural beauty away from their official diplomatic schedules. The itinerary began at Hotit Lakes, noted for its panoramic views, where the delegation was greeted by Tonin Marinaj, the Mayor of the Albanian Alps. Following the initial stop, the group traveled to Tamara, recognized as the primary tourist center of Kelmendi.
Here, the visit emphasized traditional albanian culture, featuring local hospitality complemented by music, dancing, and demonstrations of regional products. Tonin Marinaj stated that the visit by the diplomatic corps is highly valuable, serving as a significant opportunity to showcase areas within the Albanian Alps that are not widely known. Complementing this sentiment, Megi Fino, Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, indicated that such engagements are designed to highlight the region’s considerable potential.
The excursion allowed the diplomats to experience the diverse landscapes firsthand. The focus of the trip appears to be promoting cultural exchange and tourism development within the mountainous region, providing international representatives with a deeper appreciation for the local heritage and natural environment of Albania.
