Gjakova Hospital: Over 1,900 patients received treatment in the Emergency Department during May

The Emergency Department at Gjakova General Hospital reported treating 1,928 patients during the month of May, handling a variety of medical incidents requiring immediate care. Data released by the hospital details the scope of services provided to the community. Among the numerous medical emergencies addressed, the department documented 97 reported accidents.

Furthermore, the hospital managed specific instances of interpersonal trauma, recording seven cases of domestic violence and four separate cases of family violence. The operational scope of the facility continues to provide round-the-clock care, maintaining service availability 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for all incoming patients needing urgent medical attention. In terms of patient outcomes, the department facilitated the transfer of 13 patients to the Kosovo University Clinical Center (QKUK) for advanced and specialized treatment.

Tragically, the records also indicate that five patients succumbed to their injuries during the reporting period. The statistics underscore the continuous high volume and diverse nature of the medical needs addressed by the Gjakova General Hospital. The department remains a critical point of care, managing a broad spectrum of acute medical cases for the local population.
