Two individuals were arrested on the Bulqizë-Librazhd axis following an operation conducted by investigative structures in Elbasan. The DVP Elbasan investigative structures concluded the operation, which was codenamed “Trajectory.” The operation was specifically targeting a case involving the trafficking of heroin from North Macedonia into Albania. The intervention followed a detailed investigation that utilized special methods and was overseen by the Elbasan Prosecutor’s Office.
During the execution of the operation, law enforcement seized one kilogram of heroin, a “Fiat” type vehicle, two mobile phones, and a combination of currency including Lek, Euros, and Denars. According to the investigation findings, the narcotic substance was reportedly brought into Albanian territory via the Green Border. The individual responsible for transporting the heroin was identified as a North Macedonian citizen.
Furthermore, the investigation revealed plans for the substance to be distributed within Albania by an associate of the person apprehended. The arrests and subsequent seizure of materials underscore the ongoing efforts by Elbasan authorities to combat illicit trafficking routes passing through the region.
