Haxhiu sharply criticized the Kurti government regarding the condition of the roads: Only the highways distinguish us from Sierra Leone.

Baton Haxhiu vehemently criticized the Kurti Government’s handling of Kosovo’s road infrastructure, expressing deep concern about the deteriorating conditions. The journalist asserted that, absent the highways, the nation’s state would mirror that of Sierra Leone. He argued that the government’s actions regarding road maintenance were shockingly negligent, contributing significantly to the nation’s economic woes. Specifically, Haxhiu recounted a recent journey, detailing his avoidance of the highway route and his alternative route from Shtime to Lipjan. He described this experience as “shameful” and a “disgrace” for the government, highlighting a critical lack of awareness regarding the severity of the situation.

“Never have we been economically worse, and it’s astonishing how this government destroys our roads so carelessly,” Haxhiu emphasized. He concluded by stating that the only distinguishing factor between Kosovo and Sierra Leone, aside from the highway’s traffic flow, is the presence of the roadways themselves.
