Hoxhaj, Kurtit: Get out of the office, you usurpers of deputies!

Enver Hoxhaj, the Deputy of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), publicly addressed Prime Minister Albin Kurti through a video statement released by the PDK at the Kosovo Government building. The demonstration involved PDK deputies physically blocking access to the Government building. In the video, Hoxhaj directed a strong challenge to Kurti’s tenure, asserting that his continued presence in the Prime Minister’s office constituted an overreach of authority.

The PDK’s stated demand is for Kurti to vacate the Prime Minister’s office immediately, characterizing the current situation as an institutional usurpation. Adding to the political pressure, senior deputy Avni Dehari also issued a call for a constitutional session of the Parliament. The actions highlight a significant internal political dispute within Kosovo’s ruling structure.

The PDK utilized the video platform to broadcast its opposition, with Hoxhaj explicitly challenging the legitimacy of the current setup. The involvement of multiple PDK deputies in the protest underscores the depth of the internal disagreement regarding the executive leadership. The core dispute revolves around the appropriate constitutional standing of the Prime Minister in relation to the mandates held by the deputies.

The demonstration served as a visible political challenge regarding who should occupy the executive office and the proper procedure for governmental transitions.
