Incident in Magurë, Daut Haradinaj visits veteran Bekim Metaj

Former Alliance deputy Daut Haradinaj recently visited Bekim Metaj, a veteran of the Kosovo Army, where he commended Metaj, describing him as a “symbol of national and historical dignity.” According to Haradinaj, Metaj’s actions involved confronting a group of 21 individuals from Serbia in Magurë e Lipjanit. Haradinaj characterized these individuals as “criminals,” specifically alleging that three of them had affiliations with Serbian paramilitary formations during the Slobodan Milošević regime. In his account, Haradinaj stated that Metaj remained steadfast during the confrontation.

He noted that, with the support of his family and village, Metaj successfully neutralized these groups, including the three individuals linked to the Milošević-era Serbian paramilitaries. During the visit, Daut Haradinaj paid respects to Bekim Metaj, joining him alongside Gazin, Binaku, and Kushtrimi. The visit highlighted Haradinaj’s acknowledgment of Metaj’s service and commitment to what he termed national defense.
