Is a meeting expected between the leaders of LVV-LDK today? Asks Kurti

The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has publicly stated that the political agreement established between the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) regarding the election of the state president remains intact. Kurti asserted that this commitment holds regardless of any new internal developments occurring within the LDK. Addressing the current political climate, Kurti announced that further discussions are scheduled with the LDK to determine how the present situation will be resolved.

This statement followed an incident where six LDK deputies voiced opposition to Bekim Sejdi’s candidacy for the presidency. Speaking about the ongoing political discussions in Pristina, Kurti indicated that while various topics, such as energy efficiency, are under consideration, the foundational political agreement remains valid. He confirmed that while discussions are proceeding on multiple fronts, meetings and gatherings involving the parties will continue.

The Prime Minister emphasized the continued validity of the initial accord, signaling that the political framework established between the two major groups is not compromised by recent disagreements. Furthermore, Kurti did not preclude the possibility of holding a separate meeting with the leader of the LDK to address the matter further.
