Rrezarta Krasniqi responds to Abdi Xhiku: Blaming the 2020 election results on presidential candidates

Former Deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Rrezarta Krasniqi, publicly responded to statements made by LDK Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku following an incident where six LDK deputies declined to vote for the proposed presidential candidate, Bekim Sejdiu. In her commentary on Abdixhiku’s remarks, Krasniqi criticized the Chairman’s recent political decisions. She specifically referenced the LDK’s electoral performance during the 2020 elections, suggesting that Abdixhiku was attempting to shift blame.

Krasniqi asserted, “She is making the blame for the 2020 results, the presidential candidate, and the agreement with Albin for her advisor. The truth will come out.”

This exchange followed statements from Abdixhiku, who had previously indicated that the LDK had no governing agreement with the Vetëmotion movement. When addressing the refusal to vote for the candidate, Abdixhiku stated, “Here’s the hand for the damage,” and clarified that the issue of the presidency was not the LDK’s primary agenda.

Krasniqi’s reaction frames the dispute as a disagreement over political accountability and historical party alignment. The exchange highlights ongoing internal tensions within the LDK regarding leadership strategy and the interpretation of past electoral results. The comments place the focus on the differing narratives surrounding the party’s political positioning in the current climate.
