Israel releases footage of attacks in Lebanon

Israel released footage documenting airstrikes conducted in Lebanon, asserting that the strikes targeted facilities associated with the militant group Hezbollah. According to the Israeli Air Force, the operation focused on two command centers located in the Bekaa region, where the Israeli military stated Hezbollah members were operating. The Israeli military indicated that this action was executed in response to the killing of four Israeli soldiers.

Israeli authorities claimed that the attacks resulted in the deaths of “dozens of Hezbollah terrorists,” while Lebanese officials countered these reports by stating that women and children were among the victims. Amid these escalating reports, a US official subsequently announced that Israel and Hezbollah had reached an agreement for a ceasefire, which reportedly took effect at 1:00 p.m. local time.

Despite the ceasefire announcement, the situation had seen intense activity. The Israeli army had previously reported carrying out over 150 attacks on Lebanese territory since midnight. Tensions between the parties had continued to escalate following the latest flare-up of conflict.

The differing accounts regarding the scope of the violence and the resulting casualties highlight the complexity of the ongoing situation in the region.
