Kosovo suffers loss to Albania in EuroBasket qualifiers

During the fifth round of the Eurobasket qualifiers, the Kosovo National Team suffered a home defeat to Albania. The “Dardanians” were favored entering the contest but ultimately fell to a final score of 82-89. The match proved highly competitive from the outset, with the first quarter concluding in a tie at 23-23.

Kosovo managed to maintain a narrow advantage heading into the second half, leading by a single point after the second quarter ended 25-24. Despite expectations of a dominant performance from Kosovo, Albania displayed significant strength across the subsequent quarters. The Albanian squad was notably decisive in the third quarter, taking a five-point lead to make the score 17-22.

They sealed the victory in the final quarter, securing the win with a three-point margin, 17-20. Individual performances were key to the outcome. Breein Tyree was the standout player for Albania, contributing 25 points.

For Kosovo, Dardan Berisha provided a significant effort with 28 points. The results of this fixture impact the group standings, as Albania now sits in last place with four points following the contest against Kosovo.
