Kuzeska: Postal voting is a new attempt at manipulation

LSDM announced today that OBRM-PDUKM intends to revise the electoral model for the diaspora vote, citing concerns regarding potential abuse. During a press conference, the party spokesperson, Bogdanka Kuzeska, stated that initial plans for electronic voting for overseas citizens have been replaced with a proposal for postal voting. Kuzeska argued that the proposed postal system lacks adequate controls and guarantees necessary to safeguard the electoral will.

Kuzeska criticized the opposition, alleging that “Mickoski and OBRM-PDUKM have not given up their efforts to manipulate and abuse over 200,000 votes from the diaspora.” She further claimed that after failing to implement electronic voting for the diaspora without proper oversight, the opposition is now advocating for a form of postal voting. According to Kuzeska, this new method also lacks sufficient controls or guarantees to ensure the free will of the citizens in the voting process. The announcement signals a shift in the debate surrounding the mechanics of diaspora participation in national elections, focusing on procedural safeguards for the ballot.
