LDK Deputy: Consultations in the party are needed for Bekim Sejdiu

Ermal Sadiku, a Deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), addressed the potential candidacy of Bekim Sejdiu for the Presidency of Kosovo. Speaking during a phone interview with “Debat Plus,” Sadiku clarified that his support for Bekim Sejdiu’s nomination is conditional upon the official decision of the LDK party. Sadiku expressed his belief in Bekim Sejdiu, stating that he is a candidate who fulfills all necessary criteria, and conveyed his hope for his candidacy.

However, he strongly emphasized that any decision regarding the presidential vote must first be reached through internal consultation within the party structure. According to Sadiku, the issue has not yet been formally discussed within the LDK Parliamentary Group. He stressed the necessity of internal consensus, advising that such significant matters require the full deliberation of the party membership.

“Without being heard within the party, even the mother should consult with the party. It is not discussed,” he noted, underscoring that internal vetting is paramount. This statement highlights the procedural requirements within the LDK regarding high-level political endorsements.

While Sadiku publicly voiced his personal backing for Bekim Sejdiu, he maintained that the final endorsement must originate from a collective agreement within the LDK party framework.
