LDK raises doubts over the 710,000 euro tender in Kosovo, accusations against the mayor Prebreza

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) branch in Fushë Kosovë has voiced concerns regarding a municipal tender valued at 710,000 euros for the supply of waste management equipment. The LDK questioned the transparency and the development process of the procurement procedure initiated by the Municipality of Fushë Kosovë. According to the LDK’s statement, the tender was opened on April 3, 2026, by the municipality, which is currently led by Mayor Valon Prebreza.

The party noted that specific established deadlines and technical specifications within the tender documentation “raise serious doubts that the procedure may have been designed to limit competition and narrow the circle of economic operators who can participate.”

Furthermore, the LDK highlighted another procedural concern: the timing of the Council for Si meeting, which occurred just eleven days after the tender was announced. This sequence of events, the LDK argued, warrants scrutiny. The concerns raised by the LDK center on ensuring a fair and open bidding process for this significant public expenditure in Kosovo.

The questioning of the tender’s structure aims to ensure that the procurement process adheres to the highest standards of transparency and fair competition among economic operators within the region.
