Mazda discontinued production of the CX-3 model five years ago and has not reintroduced either model to the United States market in over a decade. The Japanese automaker currently has no plans to bring either vehicle back to sale in the U.S. Despite this, Mazda continues to sell the compact models in international markets and may continue to do so in the future.
Vinesh Bhindi, the Australian head of Mazda, indicated that the company intends to introduce newer generation models. However, he cautioned that these updates may not arrive promptly. “There will be new generation models,” Bhindi stated.
“But they may not come quickly.”
He further added that a prioritized list exists, including the upcoming CX-5. Mazda’s strategy focuses on maintaining sales in global markets while exploring opportunities for future model releases.
