Mickoski: Next week we will consider the proposal for the jurisprudence exam in the Albanian language

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski indicated that he has not yet reviewed the constitutional experts’ group proposal concerning the examination of jurisprudence in the Albanian language. According to “TV21,” Mickoski stated that the matter is scheduled for discussion in his cabinet next week. He noted, “Let’s see the proposal.

I haven’t seen it yet. I think that next week, on Monday, a meeting has been scheduled in my cabinet for the proposal to be presented.”

In a separate development, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Bekim Sali, offered an alternative approach. Sali suggested that while the theoretical components of the examination could be conducted in Albanian upon the candidate’s request, the practical portion would need to remain in Macedonian due to the fact that judicial documents are currently only available in that language.

The executive branch also informed that any resolution regarding this issue would initially be submitted to the Venice Commission for review. This suggests a formal vetting process for any changes to the examination standards. The discussion surrounding the language of the jurisprudence examination highlights ongoing procedural considerations within the government regarding legal qualifications.

The scheduled cabinet meeting next week is expected to address the details of the experts’ group submission.
