Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated that investigations are ongoing concerning the individual suspected of setting fire to two vehicles near the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje. Speaking today, Mickoski addressed the incident, as well as the subsequent reactions from political parties and state leadership in Bulgaria. “The questioning is ongoing,” Mickoski stated.

He added that communication equipment belonging to the suspect has been confiscated, noting that authorities will examine whether the equipment reveals any communications, with whom, or the content of those exchanges. Regarding the incident, Mickoski reiterated his strong condemnation of the act and expressed expectation that all aspects surrounding the case will be fully clarified. The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje has initiated official proceedings related to the event.

Mickoski emphasized that he would refrain from making premature judgments concerning Bulgaria, stating, “I would not rush to make any qualifications about our eastern neighbor.” The focus of the investigation, according to the Prime Minister, is on understanding the scope of the suspect’s communications during the relevant period.
