Much information about foreign interference in elections, Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office to citizens: Vote freely and without pressure

The Kosovo Police and the State Prosecutor’s Office issued a joint media statement reaffirming their dedication to upholding constitutional order, legality, and the integrity of the electoral process within the Republic of Kosovo. The statement indicated that in recent weeks, law enforcement agencies have received and addressed a significant volume of information concerning suspicions of foreign interference and activities deemed contrary to law, all aimed at influencing the free will of citizens during elections. The joint announcement highlighted the gravity of such actions, stating that “Foreign interference in elections poses a serious threat to democracy, independence, and the free will of citizens.” In response to ongoing investigative and operational efforts, the authorities reported that seven suspects were apprehended on May 19, 2026.

These arrests were connected to criminal activities related to the alleged destabilization efforts. The police and the prosecution emphasized that these actions underscore their proactive stance against any attempts to undermine the democratic process. They confirmed that their investigations are ongoing to thoroughly investigate the sources and nature of the received information.
