The first segment of the Urban Train, known as “Treni Urbani,” will begin operations on January 1st, connecting Zelenikova to the Skopje Transport Center via a 25-kilometer line. Transport and Infrastructure Minister Aleksandar Nikolloski announced the upcoming launch, noting that preliminary testing will precede the service. The project encompasses three distinct lines, and tenders are scheduled to be announced to expedite the completion of the entire undertaking, aiming for full functionality by the end of 2027.
Minister Nikolloski highlighted the positive progress of the construction work. Currently, the initial line, running from Zelenikova to Dračevë, Novo Lisice, Kisela Voda, the Aerodrom (airport), and the new railway station, is 65% complete, aligning with the established project timeline. Following the June completion date, a testing phase is planned.
The remaining two lines will also proceed according to the established schedule.
