Nvidia Rubin – how liquid cooling at 45 degrees Celsius is changing data centers

Nvidia has unveiled an advanced technology designed for cooling artificial intelligence data centers, employing a method that deviates from traditional cooling practices. This new system utilizes a liquid coolant at temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius to manage the intense heat generated by high-performance computing equipment. The latest iteration of Nvidia’s infrastructure, known as Rubin, is pioneering the use of a 100% liquid cooling system.

In this setup, every component, including individual chips and network hardware, is cooled via a closed-loop liquid circulation system, eliminating the need for internal server fans.
