The Executive Director of the Food and Veterinary Agency, Bekim Hoxha, recently presented comprehensive analyses derived from controls conducted within the milk sector spanning the period from April through July. The inspections covered a range of locations, including operator depots, border points, and various economic operators. During these controls, a total of 495 samples were collected and subjected to rigorous testing.
The analysis parameters were extensive, focusing on key components such as fat content, protein levels, and the detection of specific additives, including palm oil, vegetable fats, starch, and powdered milk. Hoxha detailed the distribution of the tested samples across different product categories. The cheese sector represented the largest volume, contributing 113 samples to the testing pool.
Following this, milk drinks accounted for 94 samples, while cream-milk products were represented by 83 samples. The remaining samples were distributed among several other processed goods. Margarine comprised 75 samples, while vegetable fat samples totaled 67.
Yogurt was tested using 57 samples, and the investigation concluded with 6 samples dedicated to butter. This detailed breakdown provides insight into the scope and variety of products monitored to ensure adherence to established food safety and quality standards within the sector.
