On the eve of the scheduled session for the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly, Albin Kurti, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, convened a meeting with leaders of various political parties that secured representation in the Assembly. The stated objective of the gathering was to negotiate and reach a consensus regarding the establishment of new institutional frameworks. However, participation in the meeting proved limited.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) formally informed Telegrafi that it would not attend the assembly. The PDK reiterated its decision to remain in the role of the opposition. In response to the invitation, PDK leader Bedri Hamza stated his expectation that Vetëvendosje, alongside the other represented parties, would successfully finalize an agreement on the structure of these new institutions.
Further reducing the anticipated attendance, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) also announced its decision not to take part in the meeting called by Kurti. These withdrawals highlight ongoing political divisions as the Assembly moves toward establishing its operational structures. The exclusion of major parties like the PDK from the initial talks underscores the challenges in forming a unified governing consensus.
