Police arrest a Serbian national and two Montenegrins, confiscating over 25 kg of marijuana

Kosovo police conducted a targeted operation, designated ‘KONTROLLI,’ as part of their Directorate for Drug Trafficking Investigation. The operation involved stopping two vehicles suspected of transporting narcotic substances. At the Vërmicë border crossing point, two vehicles bearing Serbian license plates were initially identified and stopped.

Subsequently, one of these vehicles was stopped in Zveçan, and the other was intercepted in Jarinjë. During a thorough inspection of the vehicle stopped in Zveçan, officers discovered modified compartments specifically designed for concealing narcotics. Authorities recovered an amount of approximately 25.984 kilograms of suspected marijuana.

The police also intercepted a second vehicle in Jarinjë, which was suspected of involvement in drug trafficking. The arrests made during the operation involved one Serbian national and two Montenegrins. The police action highlights ongoing efforts to interdict illegal narcotics trafficking routes within the region.

The seizure of over 25 kilograms of marijuana represents a significant finding for the drug enforcement agency. The coordinated effort by the police across multiple locations underscores the scope of the operation.
