The Basic Public Prosecution in Peja announced today that it conducted a significant law enforcement operation in Deçan concerning suspected illegal pyramid schemes. The action was carried out this evening through coordination involving the Public Prosecution, the Kosovo police, and the Deçan Police Station. During the execution of the operation, authorities successfully apprehended and detained five individuals.
These five persons were detained under the order of the state prosecutor and are currently under suspicion of participating in the criminal act of organizing and running illegal pyramid schemes. The investigation stemmed from suspicions of fraudulent financial activities within the area. Following the initial police sweep of the premises believed to be the center of the illicit activity, law enforcement officers recovered material evidence.
