Police stop Audi Q5 in Serbovac; driver fined for double speeding

The Mitrovica North Regional Road Traffic Unit conducted a traffic stop on the Leposaviq–Mitrovica highway today, specifically within the village of Serbovc, around 09:05. During the routine check, officers intercepted a foreign-plated Audi Q5. According to the official notice, the driver, identified as M.H.

(born 1999), was operating the audi vehicle in violation of posted speed limits. The radar equipment recorded the vehicle traveling at 117 km/h in an area where the maximum permissible speed limit is 60 km/h. For this recorded infraction, the authorities issued several mandatory measures.

The driver was fined 300 euros, assessed three negative points, and received a preventive measure mandating a three-month suspension from operating motor vehicles. The incident highlights the ongoing enforcement efforts by the Mitrovica North Regional Police Directorate. In addition to this specific citation, the police unit reported issuing a total of 8,718 violations across all categories during the period spanning January through June of 2026, indicating consistent monitoring of traffic safety standards in the region.
