PZAP dismissed the complaints of Haxhiu and Kryeziu; KQZ awaits the Supreme Court’s 48-hour deadline before announcing results

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has stated that it will withhold declaring the final results of the early elections for the Kosovo Parliament until all appeal procedures are concluded. This decision follows the Election Appeals and Complaints Panel (EACP) ruling on multiple petitions. Specifically, the EACP rejected two separate complaints filed by prominent candidates: Bekim Haxhiu of the PDK and Qëndrim Kryeziu of the LDK.

Both individuals had initially requested a recount of the votes cast during the election. According to the EACP’s determination, the complaints submitted by both Haxhiu and Kryeziu were found to be without merit, and consequently, no additional vote recount was mandated. Valmir Elezi, the CEC’s Secretary, confirmed that the commission has received notification regarding the EACP’s decisions.

However, Elezi also emphasized that the political parties retain the right to appeal the panel’s rulings to higher authorities. The rejection of these complaints marks a procedural step in the declaration of the election outcome. The CEC maintains that its final declaration is contingent upon the exhaustion of all available legal avenues for appeal, ensuring a comprehensive review process for the early parliamentary election results.
