Albanian Minister of Culture Edi Rama has voiced strong opposition to the plans of President Sali Berisha and the Democratic Party (PD) to dissolve parliament. Rama has repeatedly stated his support for the “Partizani” party and his disapproval of the PD’s strategy. He considers the dissolution of parliament a “crime,” asserting his firm stance against the move.
Rama’s comments come amidst ongoing legal proceedings involving him in a case related to the former Partizani club. Initially, Rama was sought as a suspect rather than a witness, leading to his being placed under criminal investigation. This action stemmed from Rama’s conversion of a significant portion of the Partizani club’s territory into an urban construction zone without seeking approval from relevant authorities, beyond a probabilistic assessment.
