Restrictions on self-driving for vehicles over 20 tons, due to high temperatures

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has announced a temporary restriction concerning the movement of goods transport vehicles with a gross mass exceeding 20 tons, effective starting tomorrow. This measure has been issued in response to forecasts predicting high temperatures, with readings expected to reach and surpass 32 degrees Celsius. The restriction will be strictly enforced only on major highways, operating between the hours of 11:00 AM and 5:30 PM.

Conversely, the movement of goods and services on national, regional, and connecting roads will remain unaffected by this directive. Several categories of vehicles are explicitly exempted from this temporary restriction. These include police vehicles, personnel from public security institutions, emergency services, and all health-related facilities.

The Ministry has issued an appeal to both economic operators and transport drivers, urging compliance with the specified operational schedule. All parties are advised to plan their logistics and movements to accommodate these temporary restrictions to ensure smooth traffic flow during the period of anticipated high heat.
