Former Kosovar MP Highlights Significance of June Elections
Prishtina – Former Kosovar Democratic Party (DPK) Member of Parliament, Eman Rrahmani, has asserted that the June 7th early parliamentary elections represent a pivotal moment in Kosovo’s history since its declaration of independence. Speaking during an appearance on FIVE in TV Dukagjini, Rrahmani emphasized the critical nature of the elections due to recent political developments within the country. Rrahmani stated that the elections are particularly significant given what he perceives as a growing trend towards authoritarianism and attempts to challenge the established constitutional order.
He argued that these developments have occurred alongside recent political shifts. “In my opinion, these elections are the most important since the declaration of independence,” Rrahmani explained. “During this period, an attempt has been made for the state to move towards authoritarianism.
And there have also been attempts to undermine the constitutional order in recent times.”
Rrahmani highlighted the role of opposition mobilization, media engagement, and public reaction as crucial factors in responding to these developments. The former MP’s comments come as Kosovo prepares for the upcoming parliamentary vote.
