Rukiqi reveals the LDK’s condition for possible political agreements

Berat Rukiqi, a member of the Presidency of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), outlined the party’s preconditions for engaging in any future political agreements related to the establishment of new state institutions. Speaking on the program “DPT Te Fidani,” Rukiqi detailed the LDK’s stance following the anticipated elections set for September 7. According to Rukiqi, the LDK maintains a firm and non-negotiable political position regarding any cooperation on institutional matters.

He specified that any agreement involving the LDK must address two key components simultaneously. The first point of contention relates to the Serbian List, which the LDK views as a critical issue requiring resolution. The second, and equally crucial element, concerns the acceptance of American natural gas within the scope of any proposed deal.

Rukiqi emphasized that the acceptance of American gas constitutes a prerequisite—a definitive “red line”—for the LDK to participate in institutional cooperation. This statement signals a high degree of political conditioning from the LDK. For Rukiqi, the acceptance of American gas is not a negotiable point within the broader framework of political dialogue.

Therefore, the party has established clear parameters: the LDK’s participation in forming new state structures is contingent upon meeting these specific demands concerning both the Serbian List and energy policy.
