Kosovo customs officials recently intercepted an instance of undeclared monetary instruments at the Vërmicë Border Crossing Point. The detection occurred during a routine inspection of a truck that was presenting a half-empty load for entry into the Republic of Kosovo. According to reports, the process began when a customs officer interviewed the vehicle’s driver, who was identified as a citizen of Kosovo.
During the initial questioning, the driver affirmed that he was not in possession of any goods or monetary instruments requiring declaration to the customs authorities. Despite the initial declaration, a subsequent risk analysis prompted a joint inspection involving personnel from Kosovo Customs and the Kosovo Police. During this joint inspection conducted by the officials, several undeclared items were discovered.
Authorities found monetary instruments concealed within the truck’s locker compartment. Furthermore, a portion of these instruments was recovered from the driver’s seat. The action highlights the vigilance of the customs services operating within Kosovo.
