Belgrade has advanced its efforts to expand its military infrastructure through a real estate exchange involving the Serbian Orthodox Church. On Tuesday, several officials signed an agreement detailing the property swap intended to support new defense capabilities. The signatories included the Serbian Minister of Defence, Bratislav Gashiq; the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management, Dragan Glamočić; the Director of the Republic Property Directorate, Jovan Vorkapić; and Bishop Aleksandar Stamenković, representing the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Diocese of Srem of the Serbian Orthodox Church will transfer a specific plot of land to the state authorities within the cadastral community of Beočin. In exchange for this property, the Church body will receive state-owned real estate located in Valjevo.
