The Basic Prosecution in Prizren has filed a request for pre-trial detention concerning an individual accused of the crime of “Destruction of voting documents.” The official notice details the preliminary investigation findings regarding the incident. According to the report, on June 7, 2026, during the parliamentary elections for the Republic of Kosovo, an incident occurred at the polling station located at the ‘Sharr’ school in the village of Jabllanicë, Prizren. The suspect, identified as A.D., was serving as a member of the election commission at the site.
The prosecution alleges that A.D. acted with the intent to impede the normal conduct of the electoral process and undermine the free expression of the electorate. Specifically, the notice states that the individual took and concealed six incomplete ballots.
These ballots were reportedly detached from the official ballot block. The action is cited as an attempt to disrupt the integrity of the voting process. The Basic Prosecution’s filing requests judicial intervention through pre-trial detention based on these preliminary findings.
The charges relate directly to the mishandling and concealment of official election materials within the Prizren district.
