Students from “Thimi Mitko” School in Gjilan visit Ujmani Lake

Students from the lower grades of the “Thimi Mitko” Lower Middle Primary School in Gjilan recently conducted an educational field trip to Ujman Lake. The outing was accompanied by teachers and the school principal, Ardhmerie Jakupi Musliu. According to the school’s administration, the primary objective of the visit was to familiarize the students with the natural environment and underscore the economic and touristic significance of Ujman Lake, which is recognized as one of Kosovo’s major water resources.

Principal Jakupi Musliu noted that for many of the students, this represented their initial visit to the lake, adding a unique dimension to the educational experience. During the trip, the students had the chance to observe the local scenery while learning about the ecological importance of the body of water. The school leadership emphasized that the visit provided a valuable opportunity for hands-on learning outside the classroom setting.

By engaging directly with the natural landscape, the students gained a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship and the value of natural resources to the local community. The trip successfully blended educational curriculum objectives with recreational exposure, allowing the students to spend time immersed in nature while absorbing information about the lake’s role in the region. The overall event was highlighted as a successful blend of learning and appreciating the natural beauty surrounding the school.
