Gëzim Sveçla, the leader of the Self-Determination Movement deputies within the Pristina Municipal Council, has criticized the current financial management of the Municipality of Pristina. Citing the financial report for the second quarter of 2026, Sveçla stated that the data indicates a decline in the budgetary health of the municipality. In a statement released via Facebook, Sveçla highlighted significant discrepancies when comparing the second quarter of 2026 to the same period in the previous year.
According to his report, the municipality’s own revenues experienced a substantial decrease, while expenditures saw a marked increase. Specifically, Sveçla noted that own revenues had fallen by 32.95%, whereas expenditures had risen by 56.12%. Furthermore, capital investments were realized at only 10.69% of the planned amount.
