Thaçi continues to be detained in connection with the administration of justice case.

Hashim Thaçi continues to be held in pre-trial custody regarding the ongoing case concerning the administration of justice. The Specialized Chambers of Kosovo (SCK) based in The Hague have prolonged his detention for a further two months within this legal matter. Alongside Mr.

Thaçi, Bashkim Smakaj, Isni Kllajën, Fadil Fazliun, and Hajredin Kuçi face similar charges. Judge Christoph Gosnell, the only presiding judge in this complex case, concluded that a substantial risk remains that Mr. Thaçi, if released, could impede the investigation and potentially commit additional criminal acts.

Yesterday, the legal representatives of Bashkim Smakaj and Hajredin Kuçi declared they would not offer any evidence supporting the involvement of Smakaj, Kuçi, along with Hashim Thaçi, Isni Kllajën, and Fadil. This decision effectively halts their participation in presenting a defense within the current legal proceedings. The SCK’s decision highlights the seriousness of the allegations and the continued efforts to ensure a fair and thorough examination of the facts within this significant case.

The focus remains on the administration of justice and the pursuit of accountability.
